Special support covers social initiatives in countries in the event of or risk of children and adolescents being exposed. The oldest age groups vary across countries. Calculated by year-end. Oldest age group is specified in country-note.

Children aged 0-22 years who have recieved preventative measures (net total) as of the 31st of december in the given year.

Faroe Islands

A change in the law in 2012 led to easier access to special support for people older than 18, which the statistics reflect.

Finland

Aged 0-17, 18-24. The age limit in child welfare after-care was raised to 25 years on 1 January 2020.

Norway

Oldest age group
From 2021: 18-24 years.
2020 and earlier: 18-22 years.

From 2021 the Child Welfare Services in Norway can continue measures until the age of 25 years. Earlier the upper age limit was 23 years.

From 2021 the numbers from Norway are calculated by year-end, earlier years they are calculated during the year.
